Chippewa County Family Project

A Non-Profit Corporation

Who We Are

We are non-profit organization dedicated to making a better life for teens in foster care in the Eastern Upper Peninsula

Chippewa County Family Project was incorporated in 2016 with a goal to serve teens from the Eastern Upper Peninsula who are placed in foster care. We desire to provide a loving, home-like place for teens while they are removed from their parents. Our programs will be trauma-informed, encouraging our residents to address the emotional issues related to their removal and to promote healing and growth.
Chippewa County Family Project will encourage community based involvement. We have partnered with Lake Superior State University Athletic Department to create a mentoring program that will connect teens with a collegiate athlete.  This partnership will allow our residents to have a connection to someone who has chosen to pursue higher education,
A connection to a successful adult will allow our students to have an advantage in the transition from teen to adult. We will actively seek successful adults in our local community to help our residents develop important life skills like banking, basic auto repair, interviewing, and housekeeping. We hope to create a life-long connection between our residents and a mentor.
